Healing Hands & the Art of Presence

In a quiet moment in my Berlin studio back in 2019, something subtle yet powerful unfolded—something you can’t quite describe, only feel. That moment became the essence of Presence, a fine art photograph created in collaboration with the talented photographer Laura Wencker. Together, we sought to translate something often unseen: the profound depth of human connection through touch.

Touch is one of our oldest medicines. Before we had language, we had hands—reaching, soothing, holding. In my work as an osteopath and embodiment coach, I witness daily how the body responds to presence more than technique. When hands listen, they heal. Presence is a tribute to that quiet force.

Not long after the photo was captured, I found myself writing these words—an intimate reflection of what touch has meant to me throughout my life and practice:

First Sense, Touch
by Marie-Sophie Kiepe

Before I open my eyes
I feel touch
Before I hear a sound
I feel touch
Before I taste life
I feel touch

I am in contact with myself
Exploring my inner and outer realms
Through the sense of touch

Touch guides me
Nourishes me
Heals me

Touch is my compass in life
I feel touch

Shot in natural light, in the studio where I’ve held space for many transformations, the image is not just a photograph—it’s a visual poem. A stillness. A soft strength. A reminder of what becomes possible when we slow down enough to feel.

This artwork is now available as a limited edition fine art print, made with care and intention:

  • Printed on 320g museum-grade paper in Paris

  • Available in three curated sizes

  • Framed options upon request

Each print is numbered and signed, an invitation to bring the energy of healing hands and embodied presence into your space.

If you feel drawn to Presence and would like to learn more or receive the price list, feel free to reach out directly. I’d love to share this piece of my journey with you.

With warmth,
Marie-Sophie
